Per day, 85 rape cases occur in India, but many of them go unreported. In the past 12 years, there have been significant protests regarding four cases. Before this, the age was 16 to legally record a girl's consent, but according to the POCSO law in 2012, the age was changed to 18 years.

In Goa, two minors were raped. BJP leaders and Goa CM Pramod Sawant asked, "Why were the girls out that night?

When a tribal girl was raped in Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha said the same thing.

The Nirbhaya rapists also said the same thing: that if a girl goes out at night or wears a short dress, she is responsible for her rape.
